Views from Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail

The Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail (what a mouthful) is a great stretch of road to take if you want to get a brief feel for the park, can’t/would rather not expend the energy of hiking to get a great view, or (as was my case) managed to kill your knees on a previous day’s hike.  The approximately 6 mile loop winds its way up and down the mountains, with pull-offs available for old cabin exploration, stream-side rambling and mountain range views.  Having spent the preceding two days admiring the mountain ranges, we mostly stopped to enjoy the streams along the way.

We encountered this little guy (a skink) as we explored a small trail that branched out from one pull-off area.
