Perejil y Cerillas

perejil y cerillas

Parsley and match sticks, respectively.   My father bought these tiny ceramics for my great aunt Sophia (I knew her as Aunt Soph) when he lived in Spain, sometime in the 70’s or 80’s.  They were eventually passed on to my uncle, who gifted them to me a few weeks ago.  I don’t know if I’ll ever actually fill them with the labeled contents, but I love looking at their joyful colors bursting out against the white backdrop of white window and even whiter outdoors.
