Ephemeral Beauty (1)

Ephemeral : fleeting, passing, short-lived

This is the common grace of life in a world where life and death stand so near each other: to find an evocative beauty even as petals fall.

In the fragmentation of a flower, to see individual petals and stamens previously ignored as simple parts of a whole.

In our distracted busy-ness, to pause and consider.

In our contemplation, to find in ourselves a desire for a beauty that passes through death.
